See what every hotel department actually consumes

How Livion turns recorded consumption into department-level reporting you can read, export and correct — without inventing numbers.

·

Every general manager eventually asks the same question: where is it all going? Which department burns through cleaning supplies, which one keeps writing off stock, and what did any of it cost. The answer only exists if consumption was recorded as it happened — and Livion is built so that it is.

The operational problem

When consumption isn't captured at the point of use, reporting becomes guesswork:

  • Stock leaves a department's shelf with no record of why — used, spoiled or given away all look the same.
  • A mistaken write-off can never be undone, so one bad entry poisons the whole month's figures.
  • "How much did housekeeping consume in June?" takes an afternoon of counting instead of a filter.

What Livion does instead

Livion captures consumption at the source and reports on it honestly.

Department consumption is recorded by the department itself, and every entry carries a typeConsumed, Expired/Damaged, or Gifted — so the reason is never lost. Recording consumption removes the stock from that department's inventory using FIFO valuation, so what leaves is costed at what it actually cost. The administrator can then review the history by department and date range, export it to CSV, and revert a consumption that was entered in error — with a guard against reverting the same entry twice.

Department insight is the read-only lens over all of this. It inspects a department's consumption and purchases across its tabs — Data Tables and Purchased statistics in the current build — so you can see patterns rather than raw lines. Because it only reads, it never writes a record of its own.

Honest about scope

Reporting reflects recorded movements only. Livion will faithfully total and cost what your departments actually logged — it does not estimate, forecast or invent the entries nobody made. Clean reports start with disciplined recording at the point of use.

Why it matters

When consumption is typed, costed by FIFO and correctable, department reporting stops being a monthly argument. You can separate genuine usage from waste and gifts, cost each department fairly, export the evidence for finance, and fix a bad entry without rewriting history. The insight you get out is exactly as good as the discipline you put in — and Livion makes that discipline cheap.
